porttracker will track where devices connect to your network, providing information about the switch and ports that the device is plugged into. porttracker will also give you port information on switches that are discovered.
porttracker will operate in either a Singe Appliance Standalone environment or a Multi Appliance Distributed environment making it scalable and fast.
porttracker calls a discoverable area of your Network a Discovery Realm. You limit the area of discovery using SNMP Credentials. A Discovery Realm includes one or more Pollers and the data collected by the pollers in that Discovery Realm.
porttracker operates in two phases. Discovery: porttracker uses SNMP Credentials to locate infrastructure devices for a Discovery Realm. Poll: The discovered infrastructure devices are then polled for end device and port information.
